George Zimmerman was acquitted of second-degree murder after he shot and killed Trayvon Martin. However, the dude that shot at Zimmerman, gets 20 years in prison. #America

Matthew Apperson was recently convicted of attempted second-degree murder in September. In addition to the 20-year sentence, he was also given a 15-year concurrent sentence for aggravated assault stemming from the same incident, Seminole County State Attorney spokeswoman Lynne Bumpus-Hooper said to CNN.

The road rage incident happened back in May 2015.

After the verdict, people took to social media to express their concerns…

Makes No Sense

People are outraged by the court’s decision. After all the testimonies that Zimmerman had to go through during the Martin case, this is what happens? Then, Zimmerman continues to get in trouble. He was arrested for aggaravated assault with a weapon back in 2015 and then this past July, he claimed he got punched in the face at a restaurant in Sanford. Yet, he’s still a free man.

Apperson told the court that he was acting in “self defense” and that Zimmerman was the “aggressor,” according to CNN. That sounds familiar, doesn’t it? No one was drastically hurt during the confrontation even though some people hoped for a different outcome.

To hear some more information regarding the sentence, watch the video in its entirety below. Did Apperson get what he deserved? Or did you hope for a better outcome with dear ol Zimmerman?
